This was a place I used to love, back when it opened. The last two times I came here literally I was the only one with my family here and I’m now understanding why. The quality of service and atmosphere has dropped down so low, there’s no one usually to receive you at the entrance, to guide you where to sit. After ordering my shwarma platter that comes with the pickles which completes the dish, they come and tell me oh we’ve run out after I asked them where are the pickles, after they have already served me the shwarma on my table. And shwarma is incomplete without pickles, you simply can’t serve that without informing first. It should’ve been my decision not theirs. I mean seriously the smallest things matter in a place where you’re paying a good amount of money and expect a good amount of service. They need someone to run this place with passion and effort, a new manager is desperately needed. Oh and do not order their pasta it ruined my whole damn night.

I first came here in January 2023, when it first recently opened. Came with my Iraqi friend and had a chance to meet the head chef who was originally Syrian. Met the owner too who seemed sulky and strange.
The food back then was delicious though, pure Arabic cuisine. Fast forward now to Feb 2024, the head chef doesn’t work there and the food is just horrible. The put the Arabic cuisine in the last pages of the menu and serving ordinary food. We went there for Arabic cuisine but it was tasteless. Mandi was horrible than a shadi rice dish. Complained about it and they said this is how mandi tastes lol. Didn’t even look like mandi. Hummus seemed old and didn’t taste fresh at all.
Definitely not going there again. 2 stars because of the ambiance only.

Ibn al Shaam, a Syrian restaurant in Gulberg, impressed me on my second visit. They’ve diversified their menu to cater to a broader audience. We ordered the Hummus Kabsa, Shawarma Platter, Steak, and BBQ.
The Hummus was excellent, and the Shawarma and Steak both had a flavorful taste. The BBQ, with chops and kebabs, was really nice. For dessert, Umme Ali and Kunafa were delightful.
I’d suggest keeping Syrian cuisine on the menu, as it adds a unique option in the city. The ambiance and vibe of the place are lovely.
Today, I had lunch at Ibn al Shaam, and it was a fantastic experience. They offer true authentic Middle Eastern food. We ordered Hummus, Chicken Shawarma, Shish Tawook, and Chicken Mandi. All the dishes were exceptionally tasty, with the Chicken Mandi’s slight blandness compensated by the flavorful sauce.
Complimentary iced peach tea was refreshing, and the fact that they didn’t charge extra for khubas refill set them apart. The food arrived quickly, and the service was outstanding, with attentive staff.
The ambiance, both inside and outside, exuded a Middle Eastern feel. Impeccable lighting, environment, and art added to the experience. Overall, a highly recommended spot for anyone eager to explore Middle Eastern cuisine.
